Terms of service
Last updated 12 July 2026. The short, honest version.
The service
domainrating.org shows the Open Authority Rating, a score computed from the public Common Crawl web graph. The service is operated by Dream Ops B.V. (imprint); these terms are an agreement with that company. Checking domains is free; a free account adds tracking. We may change or discontinue features, and we’ll be sensible about it.
Scores carry no guarantee
OAR is derived from third-party open data with a published method. It is provided as is, without warranty of accuracy, availability, or fitness for any purpose. Don’t make decisions where an error would hurt you without checking the underlying data yourself.
In particular, OAR does not predict or promise search-engine rankings, traffic, or any commercial outcome, and nobody can pay to change a score.
Fair use
- The public API (documented on the data page) may be used within the enforced rate limits. Automated scraping of the HTML pages is not allowed; the API and the underlying Common Crawl data exist for that.
- Don’t attempt to disrupt the service or access other users’ data.
- One person per account; you are responsible for activity under your login.
Your account
You can delete your account at any time from the account page, which removes your data as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Reports
To report incorrect data, an abusive verified-owner description, or anything else that shouldn’t be here, use the contact page. Reports are read by a human. Scores themselves are never adjusted by hand; incorrect data is fixed by fixing the pipeline, and abusive content is removed.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to zero, matching what you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes belong to the competent court in the Netherlands.
